Maxzone issue

I've just added some more ram - now 1024 mb - and i have tried allocating maxzone 512m to doomsday - every time i load a message says " 256 mb allocated - 512 requested"
Is this a doomsday limit or have i got a system problem not allowing 512 to be allocated.

Please post your doomsday.out so we can see what errors it is listing. Also what operating system are you running doomsday under ?

Yep Doomsday wont use more than 256mb of ram, it doesn't need to really.
