While working on making the UI I found an interesting bug in either Hexen or doomsday. I confirmed this is not related to the patches and is inherent to the actual game. I have not tested it in DOS without doomsday as that would mean I have to drag my CD out again, but I believe it is a Hexen issue and not Doomsday.

I've tested this as host, not as client as I haven't really had much time to try to find an active game (not that there are any..LOL)

If you go choose multiplayer, and choose a class other than Fighter as your starting class it will still load the sword puzzle HUD picture and will cause your items to look screwy until the first time you change your class (which you can do in Hexen without losing items you've picked up).

Thoughts anyone?

I thought hexen wasn't cheap hacked into doomsday, doomsday is based on the hexen source and doom, heretic are "cheap hacked" into doomsday correct me if i'm wrong

I honestly think the bug I describe above existed in the original Hexen - I've not tested it myself, but I am going to guess it did.

Non of the games are "cheap hacked" into Doomsday. Doomsday was born from the original jHexen which obviously was based on the Hexen source code released by Raven. Skyjake decided it would be a lot easier to maintain/develop etc if all games used the same engine (since they are so similar).

As for the bug I'll need to check that out.

I don't follow.
jDoom.dll, jHeretic.dll, jHexen.dll

The fact that they are dll's is most definetly not "cheap hacked".
