I bought the collection and when I play either Doom or II I seem to be running in turbo speed constantly. I have a laptop that is P3/600. Can I slow this down to where I am in normal speed while just cruising around the dungeons? Thanks

I've never heard of this turbo mode, but maybe you should try some modern source port.

Turbo mode? I know of a "fast monsters" mode. But that's only available in source ports.

Well it is availiable on Doom95 if he's playing with that. It's prolly shipped with the Collectors Edition. So make sure u haven't checked any boes that shouldn't be checked. Or you may try a different source-port.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to use -turbo accidentally, but maybe you mean that you have autorun on, and would like to turn it off. I'm not sure how you do autorun in Doom95 (don't want to try, since last time I used Doom95 I got a nasty crash), but it might be as simple as pressing Caps Lock.

Having said that, it shouldn't take long to get used to autorun, and most players wouldn't want to do without it.

As an aside, to get autorun with the DOS exes, you make sure it says "joyb_speed 29" in your default.cfg.

As another aside, -fast only affects the monsters - it doesn't change the player's running speed.

Just to clear things up, Doom95 doesn't have autorun.

The Doom95 launcher has a field under its "advanced" menu, in which the user can enter a value to decrease/increase (1-400) the playerÂ’s speed (an alternative to the "-turbo" command line option basically). Have you checked that you haven't accidentally got some high value entered in it?
