Hello, installed jDEP and launched Doom2 with KickStart. There are no new skies. So I start Doom1, and the new skies are there. Why not in Doom2?

Make sure JDEP is checked in the addons tab of kickstart? (I can't really help you as I don't use the JDEP)

I found the problem, and it seems pretty absurd. It has something to do with directory structure. My jDoom folder is D:\Games\Doom\Doomsday. I clean installed jDoom to D:\Temp\deng and installed jDEP, just to test different things out. Now suddenly jDEP worked in Doom2. So I moved my jDoom folder from D:\Games\Doom\Doomsday to D:\Games\Doomsday. Now it works! That's really strange. I also tried some other folder names:
D:\Games\Doom\doomed - works
D:\Games\Doom\doomsdead - works
D:\Games\Doom\doomsdayd - works
D:\Games\Doom\doomz - don't work
D:\Games\Doom\doomf - don't work
D:\Games\Doom\doomsdai - don't work
(Could anybody else try moving jDoom to these folders and see if you get the same problem?)
I have no clue what is causing this ... Anyone else?

Yes, this is a doomsday 1.8.6 bug. I mentioned this very thing at Sourceforge some time ago with no response. I'm still amased no one else has complained about this before now. At least I know I'm not going mad. *weird*
EDIT : Upon further investigation it appears that items in the \defs\auto folder don't work. I manually unzipped the JDep.zip.pk3 ( the one with the skies ) and placed JDep-Doom2.ded in defs\jdoom. Then I just loaded this ded file manually in kicks to get the skyboxes to work.
This is only a workaround. It is still a doomsday 1.8.6 bug as the skies work as intended in 1.8.5.
