Map17 is completely done, barring some difficulty level tweaking. I can post a beta testing link, but it uses some textures that aren't in the current version of newdtex.wad.

Too bad I can't actually play it yet. Good lighting. Nice detail, too. Those tiles that have dropped down from the ceiling are especially original.

Ok I finally got your map running but ports are bitchin about a missing wfall1 texture.
Anyhow its a very fun and neat looking level and I like the layout. Had a good blast testing it out.
One tiny little thing that looks weird is that short hall that contains a Baron... half of his head sticks into the ceiling. I think that looks weird. No biggie tho and its up to you to change it if you want.
Theres a weird thing going on with the exit sign. The exit texture itself appears to be going up into the sky. Maybe it's just Legacy goin nuts. I'll do a screenie tomorrow if you want.
I had some trouble with the Caco's that you encouter after going up the lift that's near the red key door. I cleaned up most of them but I got chewed and decided to go back for some health and look for secret stuff. When I got back to the lift there was 2 Caco's at the very top of the lift. I guess they came through the little door? I'm not sure but it was impossible to go up the lift without getting hemmed up on one of them and I kept getting instantly dead trying that. Trying to shoot up the lift was the only way to kill them.. but they're hard to see as sprites from almost directly below. Something you might wanna tweak. maybe set it so they can't get in the little room or set it so they can't cross onto the lift itself. :p

Interesting, thanks for the comments :) I will fix those things definitely, except for the exitsign dealie. It looks like a n00mish bug, but if you try on a port like prboom or zdoom, you'll see that the exitsign is lit up but the floor and ceiling is not. Its more of a doom trick that legacy doesnt support in it's current incarnation.
WFALL was included in the newdtex.wad that I had downloaded... I dont know why it would have been removed at all, that is very strange.

Hmmmmm wonder what's going on with that WFALL texture. Maybe I got my resource wads mixed up somehow. I'll download the one thats uploaded and see if I can sort it out. heh.
Ooh and that bit with the hex floor... where parts raise up to make a walkway across the nukage. That was cool. :D

WFALL? I never noticed that. Is it, by any chance, an animated waterfall texture? Like SFALL or BFALL?

The WFALL1 to WFALL4 textures are available to use in both IWAD's (I think. I know it works in D2) but they never used them. If you make 4 appropriate textures and name them WFALL1 to 4 and put them in your wad Doom will use them.

Really? That'd be convenient. I could use a waterfall in Map03, too.
I couldn't find any "WFALL" textures or patches in my version of the texture wad, though.

iori what....ummm what does wfall look like? Is it water or some slime? Also when I played your mao I didn't notice it missing. weird. *scratches head*

They were included in Final Doom, but ive seen different colour variations. These match FWATERx flats well.

Thanks for the updated texture wad, DD. Heh, up until now I was using external textures for all of my waterfalls.

I gotta remove the WFALL texture from my map now as I only put it on a wall for testing. Would suck if I forgot that. :p
