There's a local band around here...

...well now they travel all over the world apparently.

They are from Columbus and are called the Evolution Control Committee, thought I'd share one of there most recent songs with you, I'm sure you'll find it interesting. :)

Local musick scenes can be great fun if you live in the right place. Like for me, it's all hick bands who play at your usual hole in the wall bar and cover 80's hair bands or neo-metallica or something.

Columbus has an awsome sceen though, as does cleveland! Lots of diversity, and lots of experiementation. I can't wait to get back down there again...

...hopefully no shootings next time. :)

Well i just got home from seeing one of my favorite bands...Bel Auburn. They are so fantastic. (they are actually from Ashland though)

While there, we stuck around for a bit and saw another local band, The Stepford Five. Another great band...was glad we stuck around.

{TTr}Uber_soldat - http://belauburn.com/ They have their full CD on their website. It's in flash so you can't download it (unless you want to figure it out)...but you can listen to the whole CD on the website. They are ....different.... than what most people here listen to. A light more mellow and light....but they are GREAT guys and their music is wonderful live. It entrances me....seriously. (they are from Ashland)

http://www.stepfordfive.com/ - They have a few songs on their website. These guys are all out rock...from Columbus. I was really impressed.

While I'm on a rampage...here are some more websites of bands/artists that I have come to enjoy that are local...

http://www.danielerb.com/ - Daniel Erb
http://www.rockembassy.com/ - [embassy]
http://www.ovalopus.com/ - Oval Opus
http://www.tiaraband.com/ -Tiara

Thanks to Goldy Flickerstick is one of my favorite bands now, now I'll listen to her new suggestions.

I never really got into too many local bands here in georgia. Though my cousin is ina band now, and they performed at a concert for local bands back in september, which i went to, and there were a lot of good bands there.

Pumpkin, you should really catch them live sometime. They are in Atlanta, a LOT. The venue might be 18+ though. We are taking a whole week off and roadtripping around and catching 7 flickerstick shows in April. :D
