Don't know if this is right place to ask but... on one of the older model packs there was an option to place your weapon off-center on the right. Could this be added back in (as an option of course)? I have found there are times where this was not only useful but also made the weapons look more realistic in function.

Yes the right hold weapons option will be making a come back at some point. The next version of the jDRP (1.1) is in the alpha stages atm and once the new HUD weapon models are finished I'll be looking in to adding this again.

Im not sure if this is the right place to mention about this idea/request I have concerning the lightsmaps some textures have. (lamps, computer screens etc)

If a lamp (or a sector) blinks or is completely dark, the bright lightmap effect looks a bit silly. A good example of this can be seen in the very beginning of E2M4. Can it be done so, that if the sector's original light value is low enough, the lightmap isn't used at all?

heh, i've realised the same thing. But there is a similar problem, and im guessing i has to do with Doomsday's "faked" dyanimc lighting. The problem is that, when a room is completely dark, and a texture such as a flat, with a ceiling light is in it, the texture itself is not illuminated, but rather just a series of red halos, adhering to the texture itself. Its kinda hard to explain, but to see what im talking about, go to E1M2 then look at the ceiling, in the dark section of the level, in the "blinking area."

These are problems the jDRP has inherited from who ever it was that created the original decor lights DED that is now used in the jDRP. I've noticed the problems myself... I'll fix them :)

It's basically because they haven't been setup to react to the light level of the sector.

yeah, that would really help the over-all gameplay of JDoom, i've been dealing with unrealistic texture lights for a long time.
