Hi! I've been out for a long time, and I've been reading the news poster by Hurdler. The new Legacy version promises to be the best, with lots of improvements and fixed bugs. With the new joystick code, it seems to be the best multiplayer engine. I'm waiting anxiously for the new version. Thanks for your dedication, Legacy Team!

But... There is nothing new under the Satan's sun!
Real life has always a higher priority, and the one of Hurdler, particulary, is quite well filled...
So, we'll have to wait anxiously and tremendously, or patiently, depending of our temperament ;)

Hmmm... i think present version isn't that bad anyway - the only serious non-cosmetic issue i noticed during my play through first 9 levels of doom ][ is not-working autoaiming and freelook. Even map30 worked well. Hexen however crashes when trying to start a new game.

thats because the current version of Legacy does not support hexen, the new C++ version however, will.
and as for me, i just want the damn thing to come out already, but as its been said, Hurdler has a life, so I can't hold it against him if he puts something in his life above legacy.
so yes, i'm impatient for the new version, but atleast i wont go making threads that bitch about it :D

We might release a software only version if it takes me too much time to get the hardware renderer working.
I really hope I'll get the chance to work a bit on it since there is not much to be done to have something working good enough (without all the enhancements, but enough to test Hexen).

Mike.Reiner: I meant current CVS version of legacy++. It (as of 23rd january) crashes when trying to start game in hexen after chooseing a skill level.

be sure you recompiled legacy.wad (that might be the problem)

I'm sure. I did make depend;make;make wad.

Remember that you need to copy the updated legacy.wad somewhere where the executable can find it.
The "make wad" rule leaves the original legacy.wad untouched and builds an updated copy in the
wad/ directory.

Well, hopefully you can get it working soon.. Best of luck! *wave*
