I don't know if I said anything about it, but I got double bass pedals for my birthday!!
They're really awkward to play at first, even if you've 'practiced' without pedals for years, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I love being able to play things like "Nomad", by Sepultura (bet you can guess why), "Forclosure of a dream" and "Sweating Bullets" by Megadeth, and various other songs all the way through without having to simplify the beats for single bass. It sounds SOO much better, and I feel ten times more confident with my playing, even though I'm not too terribly great (I'm not Neil Pert, Nicholas Barker, or Mike Portnoy, anyway...).
So... Yay!!

Ah niceness. We have one at band society although really it doesn't get used to it's full potential seeing as nobody played much music that was really moving tempo-wise. And I doubt anybody does now since I left.
I won't be getting many guitar related stuff at Christmas, just too expensive really.

kick ass. i want a bass pedal. hmmm.
double bass kickers can sound good, but when evanescence used them while covering the smashing pumpkins 'zero' it sounded rather retarded. oh well, what can you expect from them...

Haven't heard of this "Graveworm"...
But Raymond Hererra (of Fear Factory) is one of my many drumming heroes. His control with double bass is amazing. "Demanufacture" and "Zero Signal" are two of his best works, methinks.
My all time favorite drummer is definitely, hands down, Nicholas Barker of Dimmu Borgir, Old Man's Child, and Cradle of Filth fame. That man has amazing control with his feet, and how he fits all those little fills and rides in completely blows my mind. I would love to meet him some day. Of course, I'd love to meet Neil Pert, Mike Portnoy, and/or Raymond Hererra as well.

I'm supposed to be getting some cymbals, but I'm not quite sure if its going to happen this year. The 22" Crash/Ride I have is nearly split in two... I'm basically going to use it until it breaks completely. After that... I don't know what I'm going to do...

Then you should check them out asap! (http://www.graveworm.de) They are a Gothic/Black-Metal band from South Tyrol (Italy). Best start with their cover of Maiden's "Fear Of The Dark". The violin intro, suddenly bursting into a thunderstorm of guitar and drums is simply amazing!

Yeah from what I know a cymbal is playable until it's cracked but then they are so expensive as I know from band society. Thing is I wonder if there is any way of recycling cymbals, I mean the metal is still good just battered and broken so if cymbal companies and drum shops would let you give back old cymbals to send back to the cymbal makers then they could just melt them down and make brand new ones. Sooner or later metal is going to be all mined out. Lol the same goes for guitar strings too I guess, just one of these funny ideas I had when considering how recycling could go beyond household waste.

Tjodalv is pretty good too, yes. Have any of you heard Dimmu's new drummer yet? Reno Killrich, of the pretty well unknown band "Panzerchrist". It pisses me off that they kicked Nick out, but what can you do...?
I've listened to a couple Panzerchrist songs. I'm impressed, but he's still not Nick. Nick has this... Just awesomeness about him. It's hard to describe.

I wish I had a picture of this thing. It's playable, but sounds so sickly... Sometimes it reverberates well, and sometimes its very flat. I have to bend the pieces just right to get it to sound OK ;P
