im thinking about buying anew video card...i found this online for 60 bucks:

Jetway ATI RADEON 9600LE Video Card, 128MB DDR, 64-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "96LE-AD-128B" -RETAIL


now, i dont know too much about video cards here, but im thinking this is a great deal. would this run doom 3 decently? is it a good card?

also, how does pci compare to agp, cuz it seems pci is a lot cheaper.

first you should find out whether your computer has an agp slot or not because some computers dont and rely on either integrated graphics or rarely a pci card alone. you can find this out by opening the case up or just looking at the back of the computer and if the monitor connects from one of the cards in the slots and not close to where your keyboard and mouse plug in then you have an agp slot but id highly suggest you open the computer up and look inside and check for yoruself before you make a decision. theres alot more high end agp cards out there right now than there are but if your budget is around $60 then id suggest you get taht card even though i dont know much about ati just that they are better at games like far cry and half life 2 because it is optimised for direct x and nvidia cards are great for games like doom 3 and just about any id software game. be careful not to buy a pci express card because that is brand new tech and not many boards that are even out yet support it so please look inside your case for that agp slot before you decide.

yea, ive got an agp slot, right now i got a 5200 ultra and uh well.... since i am looking for a card thats better for doom 3 i guess ill stay away from the ati and find myself another card, my price range isnt 60, i just thought that was a great deal. my range is about 100-150.

Be worth it to get the non LE/SE. 64bit memory buses are huge bottleneck.
