In the Plutonia Experiment they changed all the level names and the stories after map 8 (when you defeat the boss) without including a dehacked patch.

I know this can be done without dehacked if you are using a source port but that expansion pack is for Vanilla Doom 2.

How did they do that? Are there lumps which should be edited?
I used wintex to browse the wad but I didn't find anything which allows me to change those names and texts.

There was a different exe. This stuff is included in there.

Yeah I know but I think there's an other reason. I played the Plutonia wad with Zdoom so it seems that Zdoom has those names programmed too.
Seems the only explanation to me. :)

Thanks for your help Grazza.

Ports include the map names and game texts from all the iwads, and decide which set to use based on which iwad is currently being used. If you use, say, -iwad plutonia.wad -file doom2.wad, then you'll be playing Doom2 with the Plutonia map names and game texts (and any quirks from the Final Doom exe that the given port emulates).

Ok thanks. That cleared my mind.
Too bad stuff like that can't be done. It would make things alot easier. :(
