I think this will be an interesting topic.
Discuss the Union Airospace Corporation, Hell, the demons, their technology and other things from all the Dooms here.
Start with anything....

Hehe, yaeh, I think you misunderstood the purpose of the forum Kaizen.

From the title, I thought this was going to be about the way in the classic Dooms, the world wraps around when you reach -32768 or +32768 in either the x or y coordinate - thus creating a finite "Doomniverse".

I was talking mainly about things in the story line and such.
I thought this would be a good topic. Guess not. :D

Well pick something out. What's to discuss? If you want to discuss specifics, this should really be in the spoilers area.

This about all the Dooms, so no it doesn't belong in the spoilers section. To be more specific this is a place to discuss theories about the Doom universe.
I'll start with something: Zombies. Are they really resurected dead? In the original Dooms it seemed that they were soldiers possesed by demons. In fact, in the Doom Bible it actually states that.
Edit: I wasn't really sure where to place this topic. I wish there was a section for miscellaneous Doom related stuff. The kind that doesn't fit in any paticlular catagory. Perhaps it would be best if it was in Rants and Raves.

I think that this would fit in the spoiler section, since now I'm going to bring up some spoilers:
SPOILER
In DooM 3, you'll see as the missing scientist is being posessed. What really makes me wonder, is that our hero isn't (can't?) possessed in any part of the game. EVERY other person in mars gets posessed sooner or later, so what the hell makes the doomguy so special?!

In Final Doom, how the hell did the demons manage to build a giant ship of flesh and steel and, more importantly, how did they move it into our dimension, seeing as the Hell portals on Phobos, Deimos and Earth were sealed/destroyed in DooM I and II?
In Doom II, of all the cities on Earth, why does the Hell portal happen to be in Doomguy's home city?
Who is the real demon leader in Doom I? The Cyberdemon? The Mastermind? Baphomet, even though he doesn't make an appearance? I always thought that the Mastermind was, well, the "mastermind" behind the invasion of the Mars bases and that the Cyberdemon was mearly a tool, a big, powerful, dumb beast that served as a sort of secret weapon.

This isn't true. Several marines and scientists were simply killed and never became zombies. You see evidence of this in certain areas. ie: Alpha and Bravo teams. Sarge (until he ran into betruger,) Elliot and his tough-guy guard. Not to mention all the bone-picked clean skeletons in Delta. There were also a few scientists who ran out of the gate before being annihilated by Barons. And lastly there are a few people you meet along the way who are hiding in airducts and hidden passageways. Doomguy just happens to be a tough son of a bitch and is the only one who isn't killed.

Yay, this topic's on a role. :)
In Final Doom, how the hell did the demons manage to build a giant ship of flesh and steel and, more importantly, how did they move it into our dimension, seeing as the Hell portals on Phobos, Deimos and Earth were sealed/destroyed in DooM I and II?.
I think the demons are more ingenious and powerfull than you give them credit for, and perhaps the ship has the abillity to open it's own gateways or interdimensional travel. This opens another question, who built the gateways. Was it the demons themselves?
In Doom II, of all the cities on Earth, why does the Hell portal happen to be in Doomguy's home city?.
Hmmmm......coincidence? Maybe was actually planned as a diobolical plot to capture him.

Being that there are so many masterminds in Doom 2 and Final, I think that each one coirdinates seperate legions of troops. I believe the Cyberdemons serve as guards and/or elite fighting units. I have no idea what to make of Baphomet...

I think the opening of Hell's gate was an accident, at least in DooM I. The UAC was experimenting with teleporters connecting Phobos Anomaly and Deimos Anomaly. But then suddenly evil things started appearing from the teleporters. First from the teleporter on Deimos, which was completely overtaken by hellspawn and even dragged into Hell as a whole ("Then, Deimos simply vanished from the sky"), and then from the Phobos base teleporter.

Ah, yes that's right, in Doom 1 the teleporters were originally built by the UAC, I forgot about that.
"...thrashing limbs...", so does Baphomet have a body? What is his function? His brain is plugged into some kind of system, he spits demon spawning cubes from his brain. So what is his purpose?

Baphomet was originally meant to be more than a wall.
I think the main idea behind doom was that hell is lead by satan, but we never actually see or hear from satan directly, instead we hear from him through his minions. (ie: Baphomet, Cyberdemon, Spider Mastermind, Betruger, etc.)
Baphomet is simply a representation of the power of satan. When baphomet was destroyed, it would have struck an amazing blow against Satan as well, and ripped hell apart. (Remember, hell doesn't necessarily have to be in our normal life dimensions. Satan could probably rip up hell with his thoughts.) Then there's the thought that hell IS Satan, and by destroying what represents him, you're destroying him.

Has anybody considered making a mod where Satan himslelf appears as a boss? :D
And who the heck is Betruger?

He's some guy in Doom3. You did post this in the Doom3 General forum, after all, rather than one of the Classic Doom forums.

Of course some of them got killed. But since Doomguy was too tough to be killed, why didn't the demons posess him? It was also said that everyone who had been in hell turned into a zombie, so why didn't that happen to doomguy!? He's just an ordinary marine and should be posessed or killed like everyone else!
