View Full Version : Cant install Quake?!!

Ok so i have no service pakcs installed right. i pop in the cd for original Quake i try to install the iwndows version and i still get the Ms-Dos crap. Can anyone help me please?

well xp of course ..... i tried dling tenebrae but i get some weird gameport erris

Try Quake GL, it worked fine for me and I was on windows XP(SP1)

Tenebrae should work fine on any system, try deleting or renaming OPENGL32.DLL in the quake folder, i found that if its missing, or not named properly, tenebrae works like a charm

yeah i found that the hard way lol, now i just need to get the gamma up , its too dark.. any idea how to do that? its not in the options

i'm not sure, i know i can see it fine on my rig... i turned the game brightness up, i know if you turn... what was that setting *gets tenebrae out to check...* glares, if you turn glares on it gets darker, with them off, it gets brighter, least on my rig, try tunring them off, see if you can see better... oh and dont forget to get the quake water patch for it, otherwise the engine renders nothing but "the void" below the surface and its trippy, i dont have it installed because i dont really play it, but i gues it fixes that problem
