View Full Version : Multiple flechette launch - is this a bug?

I've noticed (JHexen ) that every time I launch a flechette, several seem to get thrown at the same time. The number seems to vary, sometimes it's two, three, even four! Other times it works properly and it's just the one. I've checked and checked, and it does not seem to be just a case of my keys sticking or some other dumb mistake on my part.

Has anyone else had this problem? is it a bug? , or is it just my stoooooopid computer?

I can live with this, but it does make using flechttes a rather wasteful practice.

Glad it's not just me Cain, I was begnning to worry. If it's just a case of editing one of the defs, then perhaps one of the talented people on here could help?

(BTW, your Hexen resource pack is looking excellent! I love it!)

Heh, you're not alone. I experience the multiple Flechette effect, too.

Probably some issue in Doomsdays keyboard routines? I remember we had similiar problems once (e.g. incorect/none working "Fly Up" and "Fly Down" commands). I reported that to skyJake and he was able to fix that later on.

I guess we ought to report it if several of us have suffered from the bug. I feel a bit guilty tackling Skyjake again, I mailed him a couple of weeks ago 'cos of a crash problem in JDoom and he was good enough to reply personally with advice. Going right back with yet another problem will make me look like a right moaner lol.

I'll see if I can report this on the official bug report page.

Yeah, i've the same feeling since i reported quite a lot of bugs regarding mouse/keyboard input some time ago. Go ahead Ffabbia, you knock on skyJake's door first. If he gets mad on you and beat you up i can walk away whisteling a melody and pretend to know nothing... :D

Nah...he's a nice guy actually. :D

What I have done is created an official bug report in the appropriate place. I'm sure that this issue will be addressed in future updates....and it could be that resolving it now is just a question of twidding about with the defs? Don't look at me though, code and the like scares the hell out of me!!! :o

Sure he is. :)

Don't look at me though, code and the like scares the hell out of me!!! :oBoooh. :D I'm ~twiddleing~ only with the definitions of the XCCP (Hexen Community Collectors Pack). I don't think that'd be an issue within the doomsday defs though. Must be something with the internal input buffer readout...

'internal input buffer readout' *jawdrop*

There you go again! All this technical jargon, making it fundamentally clear to me what a complete dunce I am when it comes to stuff like that! *ohmy*
