Mod To Tone Down Graphics?

I know this is probably one of the dumbest things I have ever asked on the forums, but was there ever a mod made that actually tones down the graphics?

I know there has been mods to tweak graphics so I'm sure somebody could make a mod that tones down the graphics, right?

Please don't attack me for asking such a stupid question. I know nothing about mods.

By the way, I hope I posted this in the right section, I tend to screw up stuff often...

Em....No, there's no mods of the kind. if you can't run the game on the lowest settings then it just won't run at all. There is however the patch to run Doom 3 on Voodoo 2 cards.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I can still surprisingly run Doom 3 pretty well on my dad's computer (Intel Extreme Graphics, Pentium 4, etc.). But it still lags in the midst of battles.

I get that on my rig. It lags but it's not so bad really. But it does also lag outside of fights. Sometimes i only get about 16 FPS. But I get great FPS in the pitch black areas where I need the torch to see.:D

yeah heh, i hear ya on this one, In the midst of battles my fps gets as low as 20, where walking around with a lot of effects on the screen, i get about 30, in the pitch dark areas of needing the ol' holy grail of light (as you would think of it as in doom3) i get a solid 60, :P
