I have to vote for Final Doom. I appreciate the complexity of the levels in Plutonia and TNT as well as the music. The original Doom and Doom 2 were great, but I just enjoyed Final Doom on a much higher level.

I had a great time playing battlezone when I was a kid playing it on my dads old computer:p
DooM was the best old fps I played though since I have not even played wolfenstien 3d.

Doom 2 was the first Doom I got. I guess I liked it more for some reason. More enemies I guess.

For me, the original DooM is still the best.

I like the episode format.

I like the greater degree of continuity within the episodes than DooM II has.

I like the game play better.

The only thing I do not like is episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed. It was made after DooM II, and has the same lack of continuity and game play as DooM II, and no groovy new monster to make up for it.

Well, before Wolfenstein 3D there was Catacomb Abyss, and before Abyss there was Hovertank, and before Hovertank there was PC Elite back in 1989. Elite had fully 3D filled polygon models, and for as old and crapy looking as it is it amazingly runs on my comp. :) And don't forget the ardcade game Operation Wolf (not 3D though).

I for two didn't like the thy flesh consumed very much. But what do I know, I'm just a stupid little doomer.

Thy Flesh Consumed was a challenging collection of levels, though. But not much more than that.
