Since Ive been practicing quite a bit with the Jdoom engine and how it works as well as the md2 format for the past month, Ive been thinking I should sway my efforts in another direction. Chiv is doing a bang up job with the Jdoom retexturing, Dani is pretty close to releasing his new pack which im sure will kick ass as always. I have yet to even look at heretic or hexen and the packs. So in regards to this which would you guys rather see done? or which needs the most amount of help?
Also if you read this dani, any models or anything from the pack i released would benefit you, let me know and ill send them over.

I'd like to see jHeretic completed :)
But I guess you'd be doing modelling then... or textures?

Models for jHeretic first I suppose. Then models for jHexen. I believe all the textures have already been done for both. I would rather see all the sprites replaced by models, particles and better sprites before I see some new textures.

well ill wait a while for others to put in their ideas. I still have yet to look at heretic, and hexen ive played only a few times.

It's been a while since I checked up the textures on jHeretic, but as far as I remember, they weren't as good as the general quality of the textures envid makes. :)
(And just a side-note in attempt to avoid flaming from people who like the hi-res textures the way they are... my statement was a personal opinion) :p

The models for jHexen would be more difficult I'm sure. There's alot more decorations and stuff.

jHeretic, though a lot of stuff can be moved b/w the two.

I'd like to see Jheretic pack completed first as well (IMO of course).
Though I imagine there would be more freedom with a HeXen pack since because a large proportion of Heretic's models are complete, any new Heretic ones would likely have to fit with the existing them style wise else they stand out.

Well i would be doing my own models regardless if they were done before or not. Looks like heretic is the determining one.

I would like to see Hexen done, because it is just a mix of models, sprites and lo-res patches
Heretic is more-or-less finnished and just needs packaging into a nice bundel, but some of the models could use a re-working.

heretic needs less work to complete it,
Only the remaining hud weapons, (dragon-claw,gauntlets,hellstaff)
and death animations for gargoyle, disciple, liche :-
Are left in heretic, (Particle generator cap reached on most levels, already so remaining projectiles must be models --none done yet)
Hexen needs essentially all the monsters doing, (including a redone ettin), some of the pick-ups and most of the hud weapons (although there being worked on i believe), and some of the decorations, (although Cain is back and may be working on those)
So my thoughts would be to work on hexen, as most of heretic is complete and it would be a better use of time to attempt to get that up to a better state.
Although some of the monsters will be a real pain to do. (Affrit in particular, particle effect flames really don't work well when covering an entire model)

Korax model thread, (http://forums.newdoom.com/showthread.php?t=24597)
Again Hexen is in need of the most work, whereas heretic only needs models redoing/improving

Well no offense but just because a pack is completed doesnt mean its really high quality.... Ive seen the first set of doom models, textures and it wasnt pretty.

So have I, but the first model-pack was better/equal to the detail of the original sprites,
But with Heretic, most of the current models are of fairly low quality, so while improving them is necessary. I feel it will probably be move productive to focus efforts on hexen, which is no where near complete, but most of what is completed (Slyrr's Korax model, and Cain's decor pack) is of a much higher quality.
So working on Hexen, and getting that up to as high a level of quality as possible, will be better than producing low quality models initially, and then starting to create better quality models, almost as soon as the initial models are complete, (essentially what's happened with doom - generations team then cheb, now dani)

I´m not working on any new model too but improving some hud weapons , I´m much more interested in Hexen not heretic...

I'll have to agree. I would love to see Hexen finished alot more than Heretic.

Hexen would be nice... but heretic would be good pratice. Plus he can reuse some of the models
in Hexen... so it would be a 2 for 1 deal.
