online not working

ok so my friend gave me a disk of doom 2 already installed on it and i copied it onto my computer then i down loaded legacy and he hosted it would not let me join his game,then i hosted it would kik me every time he joined. whats going on?

Make sure you are both using the EXACT same copy of doom2.wad, as well as any other .wads you are trying to load. The best way to play is using DOOM Connector (http://doomconnector.com)
