View Full Version : A split-screen question

Is it possible to set up splitscreen in cooperative mode to make WEAPON spawns there where they are in the real game?
I want to play splitscreen with my brother - to complete the game like in single player mode. But - this is too easy - there are weapons everywhere (I am talking about Doom 2).
My question is - is it possible to turn off the additional weapon spawnpoints? Thanks.

This would not be possible unless you edited all the maps and removed all the additional weapons that appear in multiplayer.
You can always try your hand at making your own co-op levels though.

I think he's talking about the SS,RL, and BFG that appear at the start of entryway. They aren't suppose to be there in co-op. They should be since they're tagged multiplayer but only are in Legacy.

Am I the only that this happens to? Can we recognise that we have a problem here?

Occurs with me as well - I had noticed it, but I hadn't thought any thing of it.

Did the extra weapons definitely not spawn in coop when playing the original Doom then?

I just found out that they do appear in doom2.exe. That "feature" was fixed in Zdoom (why I thought they weren't suppose to appear there).

Maybe add an option that makes all things marked multiplayer not appear.

Also happens to me. I always thought it was a little silly.

Yup. Start a new game, turn around and theres a BFG.
Thats what Zdoom did Ghostly, made all weapons marked multiplayer not appear in coop but that makes some lvls really hard (TNT map1 for example, Cyber with just a shotty) so I would leave it in or make it an option.

Meh, just play newer wads that support the "Coop" thing tag that was introduced in Boom.

Yeah, I was going to ask if anyone actually checked out the settings of the objects in the map to make sure they were entered incorrectly by the map designer to appear in coop.
ID isn't perfect :) Just almost perfect :)

Problem is its just tagged multiplayer. The Not Coop and Not DM tags didn't show up till Boom.
