I included the weapons and some objects of Quake2 in Doomsday in order to play there with Darken2
His look really well !!! :D

oh, did u mod the dll of doomsday?
if so, please make it compatible with linux then :p

This patch don't use any new jDoom.dll ;)
this pack have just some weapon and object of Quake2, anything special things
I was just make it for change less the style of Darken2 and make a good addon *thumbs*

I don't know if i can upload it in the net, because it's the work of ID Software :D

you could release your .ded, but uploading id's q2 models is highly illegal

Not approving this, however;
Compare to raven's hexen 2 models, used in jheretic / jhexen model-packs.
vial/potion/mana/armor/boots.....etc

that is because raven gave permission to do so, otherwise it would be illegal as well

Yes, Of course, but they are a lot of work for the new user :(
Hexagon was make just 1 weapon (2 model ; 2skin ; 1 sound) and for my pack, they are a lot of model, sound , and skin
They become too long for the user of the pack and i was remake some object for convert it

It may be legal if you put a disclaimer before the user downloads saying they MUST own Quake 2 in order to legally have this. Maybe go as far as putting in an installer that checks for Q2 on the user's Hard drive. *bliss*

Yea, a lot of weapon need to be recenter ; the position of the rocket launcher, for exemple, was move when you stop firing
normally, that should not make that, I am going to look for why. If I don't find, I would modify his position at the time of shooting

I update the patch at the moment ;)

I would have finished a new beta version soon for jDarken2! :)
However, in order to not that to replace the objects by models only, I have look for has contact the team of Darken on the site but without any answer :(
Would someone have him an address of messaging where I would be able to contact them quickly? ;)

Sorry for the links, it is possible that he doesn't function because tiscali update their server at the moment.:( When it will be re-established, I will warn you ;)
It irritates me as much as you *burn*

For the chaingun, if you want, I will make a patch to put it *smirk*

EDIT : i was make the patch quickly ; It's available on my Website
I think what the problem with tiscali is finished

The musics pack for jDarken2 is available and a new bêta version coming some :)

The music pack is big : 31.7 Mo :-S
So, start all your Accelerate download program ;)

EDIT : The FunMonster pack and the Musics pack of jDarken2 is not available for the moment
I've got some problem with the hoster :D

The new bêta version of jDarken2 is available

in this version, the détail textures is prepared but not start
So, some textures can be ugly

when i try to download the new version of jDarken II it gives me a error saying that it can't find the file on that server

Same problem here with downloading. I can't use right click 'save target as' either as the target is an error link to a HTML.

I've tried. It worked for me, although I can't get it to start *mad*
Kickstart keeps complaining about the files not being in the same place, the wads I mean.

The file for KickStart is in the root of Doomsday
When Kickstart starts, he goes replaced the file automatically in the KicksProfil folder
He is sufficient you therefore just select jDarken2 in the list of the games (like for select Doom ; Doom2 ; Hexen ; etc...)

He doesn't function anymore as an Addon for Doom2
He configure now, like another game

EDIT : I have forget something important, the darken2.wad file must be in the folder data/jDoom/ with Doom2.wad

Oops, it's an error, the 2_2 don't exist :D lol
i've include a night vision like we can see on the 2_1
But it's some old screenshot, since they are some improvement like better detail texture, shiny

They are some modification on the user interface
Some wanted model are present
they are now a lot of ambient sound
the shiny are complete
the detail texture are nearly complete
etc...

For the last veta version (before the 1.0), they just wanted the monster sound and model

The beta 3 of jdarken2 is now available. It's the last beta version of jdarken, so the next version are the complete
They have a lot of visual improvement like the detail texture finish, the shiny and other... And now, all the object (without monster) are in 3D
For the 1.0 version, I just need correct some map and convert the monster and finally make the particle for more realistic and gore

You can, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal. I think xerxes used resources from the original mod, so you can't legally use it without having quake 2. :(

You can play the Darken2 mod for regular doom on any regular DooM engine though.

ok, i loved the original darkening and this seems to add something to the mix. however, the music is immediately annoying (so i switched it off). but what it most annoying is the constant noise from footsteps and from the planes flying overhead sound. gave me a real headache. other that that, most enjoyable. Any way of switching these sounds off?

btw, are the resources you need from Quake 2 included in the Quake 2 3.14 Multiplayer demo? (ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake2/q2-314-demo-x86.exe). Then people wouldnt need to own the full version :)

EDIT : I see a lot of trouble in multiplayer under the cooperative mode with all the object and especially the monster. If anybody have an idea for the reason of these big bug .......

Imps are sometimes stuck in above the crates. Revenant replacements go sometimes about half into the ceiling... and their grenades makes them suicide. hihihii. But it is really fun anyway.

If you increase the speed of the projctile, but they might still kill them selves with those things when they try to aim at the target when it's lower than them. Maybe you could replace the revenants with cyber- or spiderdemon as they don't take any damage from explosions. You don't have to change the doomed number or anything in the maps, just the ID of the monster. So CYBORG and SPIDER IDs will do the trick. Of course then the original CYBORG or SPIDER need another ID. I'm not sure what happens if you have 2 monsters having the same ID.

What packages do I need to download if I want all the models and everything?

Also how do I start this up, where do I put the files etc?

I don't usually use JDOOM and there are no instructions. :/

I figured it out! Quite cool, though the weaon stenth and hit point ratio seem to be off. Since it does not matter where you hit the enemy, I think it would be more enjoyable if some of them were a bit tougher.

Aside of certain short comings of the JDOOM engine, your work is awsome, thankx for the contribution to the scene!

I used some Quake 2 weapons in jDooM before, I dunno if it was legal or not.

But laods of people use Abbs' weapons pack, and they're borrowed from Half-Life.

Downloaded jDarken2. Wow I love it! Heh. Hey how did you get your logo thing to appear before the title screen? I'd like to perhaps create the thing from Playstation DooM where the word "DooM" rises up out of fire before the menu screen for my PSXDooM Partial Conversion.

I've updated jDarken2 in order to make it compatible with the last beta version of Doomsday

I've corrected two stuff
The graphics folder that's different in the new version
and the text.ded file : different too in the new version

Now, that re-work :)
