I recently got DooM collectors edition and the port which it comes with is DooM 95.
I have noticed that when playing it on windows XP the mouse doesn't work, I know that it is meant for windows 95 but is there something out there wich makes the mouse work with windows XP?

Yeah, www.zdoom.org *grin* ; And if you just wanted something thats compatible with the original demos, http://prboom.sourceforge.net
Theres no reason nowdays to use Doom95 at all, the only distinguishing feature it has is a built in launcher.

That's the only reason I like DooM 95:p
I'll just have to play it the old fashioned way with the keyboard.

New graphics? IIRC, the graphics haven't changed in the 10 years it's been around. DooM looks just as good on any port. You obviously don't use ZDOOM.

That's when we don't count jdoom which has the superior graphics.
And Harry, jDoom has a good launcher called doomsday, so that should fit your needs.

There are many ports out there for Doom nowadays. You should try them all, they all have different features.

DooM 95 was the very first port. It was done for id so that DooM would work with Windoze 95, and Microsloth even used it as an example of what Win 95 was able to do.
Of course you may as well use Legacy now.
