After following all instructions provided by Activision Support people over a two week week period, buying a new 425watt power supply, a new new video card and a new hard drive, I think they have given up on this game running on my machine! All it does is crash within a minute of starting gameplay. They say no money back.
I have: ECS L4VXA2 motherboard , VIA northbridge and southbridge chipset
P4 2.8 gig
512 RAM
Nvidia FX 5700 with 256 memory
425 watt power supply
Soundblaster live
XP pro (sp1)
Latest drivers on EVERYTHING! Nothing overclocked. Certainly not leading edge, but it
meets their minumum specs.

Activision thinks this is the problem has to do with this list of IRQ's.
The tech says he has never seen anything like it and it can't be corrected,
short of changing the motherboard....maybe!

IRQ 44 Creative SB Live! Value OK
IRQ 64 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 65 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 66 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 67 Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller OK
IRQ 72 VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter #2 OK
IRQ 128 NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 OK

What's with this list of IRQ's I thought up to 15 and up to 24 virtual was the limit.
Can these be changed? Could this really be the problem.
Please help.

I've tried all the regular stuff- reloading game , page file sizes, removed/reinstalled
all drivers, no programs in background,no virus scan running, scanned for spyware& viruses, turning all advanced game options off, lowest
resolution, sound card off, and on and on......... game still crashes every time.
Thanks
John

Norton windoctor is usually one of the best cures to problem like that. Also doing a repair install to win xp could also help, as well as installing service pack 2.

Good luck.
