I think this is kinda weird. I finished the game and somebody mentioned Ticks.... so I was like WTF is a Tick? I discovered It looks like a Trite but it's smaller. Heh. In one spot I killed a bunch of... what I thought were Trites and I was wondering why they sounded different when they died... It was very dark so I couldn't see much. It's funny I didn't know there were other spiders in the game. Heh. So did they only use those in one spot? I don't get it.
Anybody else notice these Ticks in the game? I had to place one in the editor and take a screenshot.

Yeah if it's the spot at the opposite side of the burned out bridge then I know where they are and only because they made a different noise. Heh I thought they wouldn't stop coming out of the wall.

Oh, so that's a Tick. I thought the two-headed demons were called Ticks. But then I heard someone talking about Wraiths, which apparently is the real name of the two-headed thing. So then I got confused *giddy*

Maggots are the two headed guys. Wraiths are the bat-like guys that teleport short distances.

But maggots are like wraiths, right? Maggots only appear in the beginning of the game if I'm correct.

Maggots are similar to Wraiths yes. The Maggots first appear in Alpha Labs Sector 1. The Wraiths first appear in Alpha labs Sector 3. The Maggots have 2 heads and snake-like tongues, yellow eyes and spines on thier backs. The Wraiths have arms that are shaped like a bats appendages with partial webbed areas. Wraiths won't run all the way to where your at but will teleport short distances to get to you.

That's weird. I'm in the EnPro plant now and I can't recall ever seeing a Wraith before. Just Maggots.

I was referring to the Prima game guide..... heh. It appears they have an error in the monster section, saying the Wraiths first apear in Aplha Labs 3.... Looking further along I see that the Wraiths don't appear until the Enpro Plant.

I just ran into those "ticks" in Delta Complex (Delta Labs 5). They're a son of a bitch to kill when they're flooding out of the floor vents. Glad to know thats the only encounter i'll be having with them.

Hmm... You're right. It would've been better if ID had included at least some Arachnotrons. I sure do hope D_D's hunch about the expansion packs is true.

The guide said they hurt you if you're close after you kill them? I don't remember doing anythign like that but then again I wasn't close to them. I backed up into the elevator thing and sat there and picked them off. There were a lot of those bastards too.
I saw Wraiths more then I saw maggots. The maggots stopped showing up in mid game untill the very end and they spawned with the Cyberdemon. Did anyone notice that a wraith doesn't really teleport? Once when one 'teleported' there was a box between me and him/her/whatever and the box was pushed out of the way like the wraith had just turned invisable.

Ive noticed them moving things and activating doors while teleporting but they're invulverable if they are invisible as I was blasting away at where one should be with a plasma gun and when it showed up again it was like I never hit it.

Nope, you see them again. However I don't remember seeing them in Delta 5. I guess it was too dark.... ;)

Maybe he is confusing them with trites. ID really sucks at balancing things. I remember in D2 you got ALL the weapons by the 10th level, out of 30. Same in D3, except now even the monsters are unbalanced.

I said id sucks at BALANCING, not MAKING GAMES. THey gave you EVERY weapon by the 10th level in DooM2, and they didn't do a very good job of monster spacing/placement. My point is:
Archviles: 3 or 4
Pinky demons: around 6
Revenants: 12 or so
Dumb Zombies: 20-35
Wraiths: 10
Lost soul packs: 5
Smart Zombies w/ guns: 60+
Mancubi: 6
Hell Knights: 7+
Chainsaw zombies: 4 or 5
Cacodemons: 12
Commando zombies: 15
Chaingun Zombies: 10
Betrugers: 0
Vagaries: 3
Trite packs: 7
Tick Packs: 1
Imps: 2,000,000
See? ONE instance of a tick attack (there are also other monsters that we should have seen more of), and WAY too many imps.

Anyways, I think there thould have been alot more pinkys and mancubus'. There was WAY too many impse.
I did. It was a problem with the uploader. I named it "mysig.bmp", and it got it confused with another person't pic. Weird, cuz when I tested it, it came up as the one I have now.
