Well I picked heavy metal but I do enjoy most of the ones listed there. Lol when I picked heavy metal I immediatly thought of the song called "Heavy Metal" off of Ram it Down. *drunk* Trust me but I have those words as my welcome note on my mobile phone!
I do enjoy some death, a little black, power, thrash, symphonic, just really whatever sounds good and whatever I enjoy listening to it doesn't really matter what kind it is.

Death metal!!!! *bang* Love Death metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jls23
August 29th, 2004, 04:14 PM
I never much had a thing for death metal meself. For me it's always been the heavy stuff, and maybe some lighter stuff like grunge or classic rock. Just the thought of a genre called "death metal" kind of dissuades me from listening to it.

Heavy Metal, the rest is noise or rap risen bullshit.

jls23

I personally enjoy rap. But geez, I was hoping this thread wouldn't die so soon.

Inga-KX
September 1st, 2004, 07:33 PM
Everyone interested has voted, so everything's said, but we all know it always end up the same way: "rappers suck dick, rap's not even music, just tribal beats and potty mouthed gangsta wannabe teens" and "shut up muthafuckazzz, rap rulez u bitch, ghettos are da shit", nothing that we haven't already gone thru.

A more interesting way of long lasting discussion would be something like "Music and personality", people love this sort of self-identifying trash.

Heavy metal! You rock! It's mostly about the music instead of lyrics for you...but you channel most of the emotion through the lyrics! Mosh pit for you! Just be careful you don't give yourself a concussion with so much headbanging... *bang* *bang* *bang*

jls23
September 1st, 2004, 08:53 PM
Grunge! You're all about the music and would even turn your back on fame just to stay true to your roots... You reached your high in the early '90s, but you're still making some good stuff! Keep rocking!

*bang* *bang*

I also got Heavy Metal 3 times!

I voted for Heavy Metal, as it can be seen as a broader description of the whole metal scene, I think. I like classic metal, speed metal, gothic metal, some black metal. I also like classic rock (like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple), some of the modern bands also kicks ass. As does Hard Rock. SO, as long as it rocks, I'm happy! :)

I can't stand the new bands but I wouldn't mind listening a lil bit of Rammstein, specially Engel, Du Riechst So gut und Ich Will.

Emo is someone with dark emotions? Well some emo music is mostly about love and being heart broken. heh. I however dont have dark rimmed glasses, a carrier bag with lots of pins on it and I dont wear green sweaters. ;) But the music I DO enjoy.

I like some indie, such as some Modest Mouse. But you gotta hear some metal, man. It's great. And if your old, you'll at least like Henry Rollins.

Black Sabbath is something that no other band has ever managed to reach.
Of course, when I'm talking about black sabbath at it's best, I talk about the five (or eight sometimes) first albums, when ozzy was around. After that started the downfall.

Fuck Ozzy. Ronnie James Dio is the superior vocalist by fucking far. I hate Ozzy's whiney-assed voice.

jls23
September 4th, 2004, 10:12 AM
Sorry FATAL, but I have to agree with Nomad here. Ozzy is gay. Black Sabbath is gay. But Ozzi is a special half-assed whiney-voiced junkie faggot satanist. Kinda like a telemarketer, but worse. BTW who is ronni james dio?

Stockholm Syndrome is good. But I'd check out their Origin of Symmetry album, at least for me that is their best album. I like Absolution but I prefer OoS. Citizen Erased is a fav from that album. I so wanted to play that but discovered he used a 7 string and can't mess about with my 6 string to make it sound like a 7 string!

Harry
September 4th, 2004, 03:00 PM
I recon "new born" is the best damn song ever, you should check that out, in the origin of symetry.
also citizen erased is a good song. in absolution "thoughts of a dying atheist" and "hysteria" are very good. In all I like most of the muse songs.:D

Ronnie Dio was the guy that replaced Ozzy. In my humble oppinion, a much, MUCH better singer, and much better stage presence.

Ah but for stage presences you can't beat Trent Reznor. The BETS damned stage presence you've ever seen only matched by Marilyn Manson.

Plz don't use Jesus in a vulgar way, it offends me.
And you don't use 'gay' in such a way. I may not be a gay myself but I know people who are and really would appreciate it if you didn't use it like that. It pisses me off.

Post that in the other thread. I didn't say "fag" yet in this thread. Oh wait, I just did. Could've meant cigarette, tho.

EDIT: Oh wait I did post that here! :p

Not usin' it as homo, just as an insult with no meaning. He's not really gay, he's a man-whore and everyone knows it. I didn't mean to offend gays, even though I don't much care for them; I don't like to offend them, just Ozzy.

You're trying to justify this when you asked someone else not to talk about 'jesus' in a specific way? Pot? Kettle? Black?

I still get nostalgic for 80's metal now and again, but my favorite is still symphonic and opera rock. Stuff like Therion, Nightwish, Lacrimosa...

The Wall is the only Rock Opera I've ever heard.

Nomad
September 21st, 2004, 09:36 PM
There's a difference between "Rock Opera", and "Opera Rock". :P

My favorite "Rock Opera" type thing, is Fear Factory's album Obsolete. If any of you have read the script that goes along with it, you'd probably like it too. It's too bad it never got made into a video or anything. Although, the premise of it was used for the video for "Resurrection."

For Opera Rock, I definitely go with Nightwish. Tarja's the greatest :D Would you consider Rhapsody to be opera rock, by the way, Catsy? I like them pretty well, too.

SavageMessiah
September 28th, 2004, 01:05 PM
Ah crap! I forgot black metal! Damn!
Curse you! Heheh, I'm with ceph on this one I voted Death as a close second.
Grindcore comes in third.

Would you consider Rhapsody to be opera rock
Normally I'd flame you for violating my careful rules of nomenclature, but it seems like a pointless venture, so I'd say anymore you could say that they are in a way. (Hmm, that was vague.)They're power metal all the way though. Have you heard their new cd? Oh crap wait it isn't out until october. Forget I said that. :D It's fucking awesome though.

Oh, and Tarja rocks my world! Metal needs more chicks. :P
