The Hectic

Has any one ever beaten the hectic stage on Doom 64? I have beaten it one time the only thing I have trouble with is where you get the blue skull key card I just for some reason can't stay on the platforms while I am shooting the hell knights. I have also got the super charge and the green armor. Is it possible to get the blue armor?

I never did get to play this one.. I have always been a big Doom on PC or Mac type myself.

you might want to try turning on the map as you grab the berserk. Try to aim straight at either of the hell knight doors, a perfect 90degrees from the blue key crusher. Now, with the rocket launcher in hand, sidestep left or right depending, to get the blue key. The crusher will immediately activate, so sidestep the other way and start firing rockets. Keep the strafe key on and keep sidestepping when you hear the knights throwing, and move slightly forward after every rocket shot (because of the slight recoil you move backwards a bit). You need to know how many knights are on each side first, so you can stop firing when you clear one side. This may sound tricky because you'll be doing it blind, but you can hear well enough to know when to move, and you can keep yourself of the platform as long as you dont get hit at all. If somehow you fail to stay straight, turn off the automap quickly and move into the alcove by the door. it will take about 6 rockets to kill the knights on each side, but once one side is done, you only have to worry about the other side which is much easier.
