Guys, how do you edit PCXs? When I open them in Photoshop, they're all look black and white. Which editor do you use? Or is there any plugin for Photoshop to work correctly with them(because I love Photoshop so much)?

Use imageready and save the pcx files as psd's then you should be able to do this:)

I have Photoshop CS and Imageready CS. Some of PCXs still dont show correctly. For example medikit.pcx from JDRP. You can try loading it... It's sad because that texture bothers me and I want to replace it with hi-res version. :(

I'm pretty sure those PCXs are saved in some strange format. I've only been able to view them in q2mdl but even then some of them are still screwy.
Rather than painting over them it might be easier to start a fresh from a blank uvw template. Open the model in a modeling app and then either export or take a screen grab of the uvw layout.

Although i bet Dani has made a super duper medkit using a 3.5 poly cube that really looks like its been made with 5000 polies for jdrp 1.1 ;)

Hah, I could make a better one with 2 and a half vertices and some duct tape *grin*

Bio, I had the exact same problem with Phtoshop. However, there is a solution. Make sure the image is in 256 color.
Just go to Image/Mode/Indexed Color and set it to 256, then save as a pcx.

Thanks, I know this. But problem is that some already made PCXs don't load correctly. They load as grayscale. You can try that "medikit.pcx" to see this. My solution is to load model in Q2 modeller, then just export skin to bmp. And it works! ;)
