Hi, newbie here. I've got Doom 3, and the installation went fine. The game runs fine too, no crashing no problems with the graphics or anything like that.

But I do have a problem with the PDA. When I press tab to call it up, it appears but the text field that explains what the PDA is won't go away. It keeps hovering over it and because of that I can't use it. It says click to continue and I clicked over every inch of the screen till my finger fell of but the text field doesn't go away.

It still hasn't crashed, I can get rid of the PDA by pressing TAB again, and the game is still running fine, but I can't use the PDA which is kinda essential. I got the info from the kitchen to unlock that maintenance closet, but I need to be able to use the PDA to access it. (And it's not the last time I suspect.....)

Does anyone else have trouble with that? Or heard about it? Know what to do about it? If I'm just being an idiot and I just have to click a key to take the field away, feel free to embarrass me and tell me. I CAN'T PLAY THE GAME LIKE THIS! *ugh*

:D LOL!

Yep, you have to do just that. Below the box where it tells you about the PDA, it says CLICK TO CONTINUE.

Click on the "Click to continue" words.

Uhm yeah, I know.

Sorry if I didn't make that clear, but that's the first thing I clicked. Clicking on the words 'click here'. It doesn't do anything. There's no clicking anywhere that does anything.

It's a long shot, but have you tried both buttons? I found the PDA was a different mouse button than I expected, and sat there confused for a bit.

I hope you don't have a one-button mouse, because God knows if D3 has support for those.

I have the same problem as SHADE--I can't click anywhere to clear the blue PDA info
screen. I have clicked on the words, and everywhere else. any help? thanks.

I had this trouble at first and I found that the problem was that I hadn't binded the 'fire weapon' key. I thought that I had it binded to left mouse button, but I had then accidental binded another action to left mouse button (by doing a triple click instead of a double click) and it had removed the 'fire' bind. You may be thinking 'how could he not notice that he couldn't fire his weapons?' but it was right at the start of the game before you have any weapons.

I hope that's the problem for you guys, if not then sorry I can't help you.

Thanks Gummo. It's exactly as you said: the "attack" key was unassigned. I was not
thinking the FIRE button was an "attack", so I didn't map it. Now it is and it works!
Gotta love the Forums!
Thanks again.
