Can't Get ZDoom To Work?

I spent all day yesterday downloading Zdoom and ZdoomGL. Zdoom somewhat worked the controls worked fine the music worked okay, but there was no sound effects, and I didn't know why. Also, everytime I started Zdoom up, it would give me one of those "You Have Performed An Illegal Operation" messages, but it would still work. Then, I tried ZdoomGL out and I couldn't get that to work, it said I was missing a file, but I can't remember the name, but I do remember that it didn't even come with the download! Can someone help me?

Also, which versions of Zdoom and ZdoomGL? (Version numbers, please.)

I fixed it. It turns out that the problem was that I downloaded it off File Planet, which always has missing files and older versions, etc. I just redownloaded it off the Zdoom website and it works fine.
