i just got the game about 13 hourse ago and i am at the monorial skybridge

im 10 minutes away from the cyber demon at the end haha... also i really like the no disppearing body mod, and the shadow fix so models cast shadows on themselves, which should shut those idiots up about it. They work perfect.

i just got past the enpro plant and now im at the communications transfer part where you have to use the comm card and stuff. damn i am going through this so slowly :) and i never use run either i just dont. i dont know why. i think walking is fast enough for me in this game.

just powered up the delta labs, now i'm on to something else. i had to stop though, its almost 3am here. i swear i'd be further along if i could get more than 20-30 minutes at a time to play the game. sigh.

i've been LOVING it though. theres been several baddies already that they never even HINTED at in all the pre-release footage (and i saw ALL of it)

Anyhoo, i just got to the Delta Labs Level 2A and have been getting my space marine hiney kicked by the revenants (those rockets SUCK!! lol) Chainsaw does wonders on them though, they dont like shooting rockets if you get right in there faces. Iv been reading some of your guys posts, heard the cyberdeamon was freaky, cant wait till i get to fight him (i assume hes the final boss)

Anyhoo, look forward to talkin doom with you guys, i still play alot of the old dooms online with ZDeamon so if you see a guy named Bones getting liquified by a rocket, feel free to say hi *wacky*

Dude chill out, no reason to "think" someones pissing you off. Well, couldn't bear the wait. With tweaking (increasing the cache and extracting the pk4 files so far), I have the game running decent in low detail on my Athlon 1400 with a Geforce 2 MX. Quite awesome. I stopped playing last night in Alpha Labs 4, around the place with the wonderful hullucination (the one that nods to the PSX and N64 versions of Doom, I cheered). I love how the game is more action oriented and Doom-like since the end of Alpha Labs 3 (where a crapload of enemies teleports in). Now it's a true blast. I can't get enough. I wish I didn't have to go to a wedding all day...

Can't wait for the X-Box version. Doom has always been at it's best on the consoles. That is, if they're done right.

I won't ruin it for ya, but I think the lost souls are some of the most wicked enemies in the game. I like to blast them with a plasma bolt right as they get close to me.... the blue light bouncing off all the detail in their screaming faces looks completely unreal. it's amazing!

lol yeah i know. i just turned off the tocixity in UAC Administration and fought off the first bee-like baby creatures. damn they are annoying. oh yeah and those revenants really piss me off. i found the best way to deal with them is to ream them with the plasma or the chaingun. shotty up close and personal works fine too. just you have to dodge the missiles by waiting for them and strafing left or right when they are in your face.

Sounds like most of you took a different approach to Doom 3 than me - taking your time. Just like with all SP games I play, I buzz through it as fast as I can the first time then (if the game was good) immediately start again on the hardest difficulty, taking my time. The same goes for Doom 3 - I'm really loving Nighmare.

the end boss is a little bit too easy for me, but the gaurdian is much too overpowered :p
and erm, hell gives that feeling like a monster can spawn at every moment :)
but hell is soooo fps consuming on my gf 2 pro 64mb ddr :p (my card overpowers the gf3 :p)

Just finished it, the Cyber Demon was kiiiiiinda easy, once i figured out what i was suppost to do to kill him, otherwise he was indestructable lol. The Guardien was a bit over powered, took me a minute or two to figure out how to kill him too. The Cyber Demon was amazing though, hes so freakin hugh.

Those babies with wings are called Cherubs...and you have to get throught Delta Labs Sector 4 before you reach hell...took me a few hours to get there from where you are now. But then, Im slow *bliss*

Nightmare really isn't that hard. Sure your health drops 5 points around every 5 seconds till it reaches 25, but that just forces you to concentrate. Use basic exploits of the AI (e.g. run through a door and hide on the side, waiting for them to come) and you can survive without much of a problem. There are no health packs in nightmare. Your only sources of health are scattered med stations and the soul cube - which you start with from the beginning.

Overall it's a fantastic mode, the best way to play Doom 3 IMO.

In the area after the spiral stairs, you get outside, where you get attacked by Imps and Hellknights, but before you enter the next door. On the other side oif a gate are some items (ammo, health and such) looking over nothing. If you look on the right edge, there's a small ledge that's hidden by a rock. The BFG's on a pentegram thingy.

This game is soooo long.... and im really glad too. I figured it would be about a 3 day game. Im on day 5 now... with playing about 5-6 hours each day and a couple of days playing 7-8 hours. Over 30 hours of play time sofar. But either im slow... which i dont think i am... or this game is long :P. Such a great game.

Finished on veteran.... just started playing Nightmare. Okay, it's kinda INSANE. I won't describe what the differences are unless you guys really want me to (hey it was a surprise for me), I'll just say that I got killed by one of the freakn PISTOL ZOMBIES. That's right, the ones you encounter at the start of the game just after the 'incident'. It's quite a jump from veteran in any case.
