View Full Version : Really weird graphic glitch

I juz bought Doom3 today and was really excited about it. Got home installed it and everything was perfect. Then i tried playing it and i went through the intro movie and thats when things got a little weird. The movie continued to play but more and more i began to notice white flashing pixels on the screen. They became more prevalent as the intro movie continued. The movie went all the way till i took control of the main character but the white flashing pixels were everywhere partially obscuring my vision. My graphics card is ATI Radeon 9800 pro, i changed my resolution and graphic performance level but it still continues.

Any ideas will help, im absolutely clueless as to what the issue might be. Obviously I could still play the game if i wanted to but the flashing dots/pixels would make me go insane instead of the demons.

Do you have the latest drivers for your Radeon 9800 Pro?

Dude i had the same prob...and down loaded the drivers from ATI also see my post here http://forums.newdoom.com/showthread.php?t=23800 I have the same card ...maybe some of the info on the above link might help..I suggest you read the whole thread before changing anything :D

Thanks doom dude, ur suggestion helped a bit. Once i downloaded the new drivers there was significantly less "artifacts" on the screen. I still have a few of them though and would like to try and find a way to get rid of all of them.

Na man ...My Video card was running to hot. (I had the "confetti" on my screen too) My sound card was right next to my video card ...so i moved it over one slot..it gave the video card more air flow and it runs a lot cooler ..after i did that my problem was solved . I now can run the game at the second highest settings with all the advanced options checks ...and the confetti is gone *dark*
