def files??

I purchased Prima's official guide to doom 3, and in the back they reference the "def files", which can be edited at your own risk to change almost any aspect of D3's gameplay. It says they're in the base/def directory. Mysteriously, I don't have any def folder, nor any .def files pertaining to doom! Can anyone help?

C:\Program Files\doom3\base\def, You need to unpak the PK4 files to get the DIR. hope that helps.

Is there a program you use to unpack them because I can't get it to work.

use winrar and then do the open with command in the windows shell, you should also see a slight performace boost from playing with them unpacked so long as you redo the extension of your original pak files, or delete tehm

They will extract with Winzip as well.
