Most of those look like they were designed by and for people who can't appreciate what DooM III is in terms of its weapons and gameplay. Game is no fun to play all the time if the weapons are insanely powerful.

If one were to have a desire to modify the logic of the game, where would one go about obtaining the source for gamex86.dll or whatever everyone has been modifying thus far?

If anything I wish I had a bfg that didn't need to reload a cart every few bursts like the old vanilla DOOM version,

If one were to have a desire to modify the logic of the game, where would one go about obtaining the source for gamex86.dll or whatever everyone has been modifying thus far?Well, the current mods have been produced by editing the .script and .def files you can find in pak000.pk4 (open with a .zip compatible archiver).
It doesn't give you too much flexibility compared to having the source to the core game stuff, but the script files do contain the weapon, AI and GUI code. http://www.doom3world.org has lots of useful information and helpful people over there - a good amount of info for familiarising yourself with Doom3's scripting languages.

I'm interested in changing sound effects well teh voices of the monsters and the player. I have this movie Dark Blue I want to put as the theme of the game. Is there an editor somewhere that lets you change the game's sounds?
