I HATE archviles, they're a bastard to kill and they don't make it any easier by resurecting the dead!

Pain Elementals are a bitch. Spawn Lost Souls and when you kill em, spawn more Lost Souls.

None. All are capable of being used well, or being used badly. None of the monsters are inherently bad.

Yea, actually the hardest enemy in "supposed difficulty"/"real difficulty" comparison is the lost soul. It's small, so it's hard to hit. It also takes usually more than 2 shotgun shells, and that's why I like to snipe them away with chaingun or pistol; the only two snipers in DooM.

I hate pain elementals. If you let them live you come back & find a flood of lost souls. After a while the lost souls seem to blow up a soon as they are spawned.

Pain elementals are the most annoying enemies, especially when you're supposed to fight them with "slow" weapons such Super Shotgun.
Plutonia map 32 is good example, you'll face them around 10 or more at the same time, luckily you can get rid of them with BFG.

Arch-Viles, those annoying bastards are very hard to kill without an Plasma Gun and a Shotgun.

Lost souls are like the mosquitos of the Doom universe. They're small, fast, attack in swarms, and they have an insatiable attraction to human flesh. On top of that, they make an annoying sound as they come after you.

If you hate the Lost Souls in Doom I/II, then wait for the Baby Demons in Doom III
they're twice the annoyance.
On the other hand, I do like the sounds of the Lost Souls

Arch-Viles get annoying after a while. Especially in the one level in Final Doom (Plutonia Experiment) where you have go through that maze with all those Arch-Viles scattered through it, and one of them sooner or later corners you and kills you.

I LOVE that level! It was kinda like being at the carnival (the style of the maze, the music, etc etc), only with arch-viles who will stop at nothing to nuke you.
I'm just glad that they can't revive their own kind. THAT would be madness.

Lost souls/pain elementals are even more annoying on Doom 64, lost souls are more agressive (they attack you more faster, like on nightmare, but not that fast). Pain elementals spawn 2 lost souls at once.

err they can, i'm sure of it, killed one of two in the same room, ran out of ammo and health so left the other one and went to restock, came back and there was two again!

I hate arch-viles! They run fast, cast fire on you, revive their buddies, and are tough to kill without the rocket launcher! If those guys come in numbers, it usually means starting over for me! Hahah.

They can't...Resurrection frames are not defined for archviles...as are not for cyberdemon and spider mastermind (and maybe others I forgot)...

the Pain"in the ass"Elemetals are SO evilernessingley....er......es.....ing.....um..... .whatever -_-
but archies are a pain in the ass(too), and if anyone looks at the OMFG!!! post i made,, they also leave a BIG mess for the humans to clean up because they just piss wherever they want.....
plus the revenant picks his ass and leaves it on other demons(in OMFG!!! post).
and the manacubus's look after the archies, i hink they like the walls the color they are, not yellow

Pain Elemental are easy to kill if you "prevent" them, I mean if you kill them before they start spawning their lost soul. But if you let them live a bit too long, ESPECIALY on Nightmare, its yeah... a nightmare. I LOVE the revenant and the archvile because they require different tactic (the revenant are so damn hard to dodge sometimes, and if I can ask does anyone know what make so a revenant's missile will follow you or not?)
and the archvile well its simply require you shoot them and hide, or if your lucky the shot can literaly "stun" them and stop their charge... but I prefer the hide trick.
I love Doom that way, still more monsteres is needed...

OK, the Doom engine's basic unit of time is a gametic. A gametic is 1/35 of a second. Everything in the Doom universe works in thirty-fifths of a second.
When you start playing, you are at gametic 1. One second of playing time later, you are about to have gametic 36. If at gametic number X, a revenant fires a missile, then the engine will use that number, X, to decide whether the missile is homing or not.

Revenant's can be annoying at times, when you haven't got armor, and they shoot a missile at you, that CAN hurt. Got killed by a single missile when I had 100% health.

and something else to add to the archies;
you have limmited ammo(unless you use the idkfa/idfa) then your screwed man, you run out of ammo with an archie around, then consider yourself a permenant in hell. unless you run away....but your still screwed.....
basicly, its like this;
you use ammo to kill enemies(duh), with an archie, they bring back the dead. if it isnt a former human-type person, your screwed. unless you take down the archie. but archie revives enemies and you use ammo again and again and so-on and so-fourth. sooner or later, your screwed...

i hate the arachnotrons , especially the ones from doom 64, i especiallly dont like the way they are in Hectic, but the ones in PC doom, they are sorta cute, with their tiny brains standing at probly 2 1/2 feet and their blue eyes *drinky*

Sergeants.
Weak, easy to kill, die in droves, but I like to try and finish each level without taking any damage..going with with 200% health and armour, and exiting with the same....some damned Sergeant usually hits me, no matter how careful I am. All the other monster attacks can be avoided with care, patience and stealth, even the chaingun guy has a weakness in that he's slow and not perfectly accurate...
Seargeants are probably the most accurate monsters in the game, and therefore the biggest pain in the arse as fa as I'm concerned.

They are. There are no "resurrection frames". I mean, they could be DEFINED as frames to be used when resurrected, but I'm sure they didn't copy and paste the frames again just for resurrecting.
EDIT: Erm, that was a reply to a post a page ago :D

pain elementals. for the lost soul-shitting and that noise they make when you shoot them.

clever, so basically it just follows the tic.
but why 1/35 of a second? bit of an odd number.

Interesting part about the Revenant's homing missiles their. I always thought they only fired homing missiles if they could get a good lock on the target. But i guess it's just random after all.
