First post here. Just thought I might contribute a little. When I play Doom 3 I get what seems to sound like a stuck record. Voices keep repeating themselves over and over until I walk away from a guy. This really started happening right from the opening sequence. Usually I'll walk up to a guy and he'll just start saying his first sentence over and over again. Only happens with voices nothing else. Been working on the problem. Unpacking .pk4 files now. Tried default settings in the game and even went as far as turning off almost everything to try to gain performance but to no avail. Defragmented the drive, unpacking the .pk4 files and upped the cache. Will get back to you if this works.

System Specs.
1800 Athlon XP
512 megs of ram
Installed Doom on a 20 gig partion nothing else on it
Gigabyte 7N400L Mobo
Radeon 9500 tweaked BIOS now a 9700 Pro (not overclocked)
Watercooled processor operating at 47degrees celcius

Thanks before hand if anybody has seen this behavior and wants to contribute!

I'm having this problem also, its really annoying. The sound just skips, as you say, like a stuck record, especially on speech. I have no idea how to solve this problem and would appreciate help from anyone in the know. My specs are: P4 2.4g 512mb ram 120gb hard drive. I have a Creative Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Digital sound card which as far as I know has the up to date drivers. Apart from the sound the game seems to run perfectly although this problem makes the game near unplayable. I've tried reducing performance but this does not help one bit. Help!
