This is part of the game. In oder to open up a cupboard you need to go there. I found it pretty amusing that they made their own website telling the code of a cupboard in the game. *dark*

Lol @ www.martianbuddy.com

I've been searching for the code on that cupboard for quite some time. Then I got fed up and just left it. Doesn't matter I didn't get the chaingun. I found it a short while later, in the part where the scientist guides you through a dark area with his portable lamp. It's just around the corner when you enter the dark area.

Forget Martianbuddy.com, anyone know what to do with transport ID code 4409 from www.ua-corp.com?
Is it a secret in the game or just the original DOOM 3 count down?
I found that site from the PDA of William Banks.

It doesn't mean anything and we will forget martianbuddy when we are damn-well ready arkan. Don't tell us what to do unless you want 100+ ppl pissed off at you.

ahem, you're kidding,.....right??
Just incase you were serious (which i hope not......unless you're 10), i wasn't implying forgetting about the martian buddy secret, i was trying to point out another possible secret. I have yet to find anything that would accept code 4409.

You SAID "forget martianbuddy.com"! It isn't a secret, it's just a random number, probably the number of the truck that delivered it to whoever published it.

*jawdrop* no need to argue i just wanted to show you how interesting it his that they made a website.......for 1 code in the game its pointless

I guess you never used that phrase before....like when you're talking with your pals and you'd say "Hey, forget about Pamela Anderson, did you see that girl at the bar?"

It's like, in addition to Pamela, there's another girl that rates right up there.

....see what i mean? I think you may have mis-interpreted what i wrote. In any event, did any of you guys come across that UA-Corp web site and thought it was a secret?

It had a countdown to August 3rd before, and it was ALWAYS 4409.

Geeze.
Anyways, I thought it was kinda clever but then the other cabnit that had the BFG in it (the one in the storage room) got on my nerves cause it was kind of a intense part of the game and I had to turn off the game, go to the site again then turn the game back on. Just kinda took away from the game, the prize was worth it though.
Anyone wonder why MartinBuddy would be giving a locker with a BFG in it away? I thought it was a prototype and wasn't finished yet. Why was MartinBuddy giving them away? Why did they have them? lol
Also on the fact that it was a prototype, I wonder if they're gonna make the complete BFG9000 be in the expansion?

jls23
September 5th, 2004, 07:14 PM
Most definately not. The UAC was totally obliderated, remember? Oh shit this IS in spoilers right? Ah forget it. Unless they had a conglomerate on earth that was doing the BFG.

Oh BTW, I wonder what BFG stands for? It used to be BIG-FUCKING-GUN 9000, but I doubt the UAC would call it that.

Scarekrowe
September 5th, 2004, 07:17 PM
They couldn't have been totally obliderated. They had to start their company on Earth, there's no way a bunch of people could go to Mars THEN start the company and there not be some kind of civilian colney there. They had to of started on Earth then go to Mars once they became a major conglomerate.

It might still stand for that seeing as how it's a prototype. They might call it that kind of as a joke then once they actually get it finished they give it it's official name.

Maybe the overload problem is fixed in the final version.

Doubt it. Maybe they allow it to have more ammo.

DoomedAce

The general consensus is that BFG stands for "Big Fragging Gun". In which "fragging" is not necessarily a deliberate softening of another famous F-word, as "frag" is a real word meaning to wound or kill (a fellow soldier) by throwing a grenade or similar explosive at the victim.

More logical meanings are "Blast Field Gun" or "Beam Fragmentation Gun"

So their you have it *smirk*

jls23
September 8th, 2004, 01:00 PM
No, it's wrong. In the Doom 2 95 version manual it said big-f***ing-gun.

FATAL
September 8th, 2004, 01:20 PM
Then why did you even ask it in the first place?

jls23
September 8th, 2004, 02:02 PM
I asked what it stood for in Doom 3, not in Doom 2. We are only sure about the Doom 2 one, and it is big fucking gun 900.

Scarekrowe
September 8th, 2004, 03:19 PM
I always thought it was big f*cking gun. The term fragging didn't come untill after Doom was released.

DoomedAce
September 8th, 2004, 03:48 PM
Big F*cking Gun is another option and could well be the original name, but most faqs assume that it was more or less censored by replacing it with "fragging" when the game was released.
