Hello. I'm having some problems and thought you all might be able to help me out.

I'll try to keep this brief. Multiplayer doesn't seem to work for me. Here's what's happening:
1)When I enter the multiplayer server screen, usually I get no rooms. When I do get rooms (which is very rare), it only shows 4-8 rooms tops.
2)I click "refresh" and "get new list", but nothing happens...no new list, and if I was lucky enough to get a few rooms to pop up before clicking one of these, *poof*, they're gone
3)I click a room to join or enter an IP for a computer that I know is hosting a game, and it goes to the "connecting to server" screen, but that's it. It stays on that screen forever.

I'm behind a router, and I know that Activision says "we don't support playing through shared internet connections or behind a firewall", but let's get 100% serious...most people in this country are going to use either one or both of those. Does anybody have any ideas on what I can try? I'm using a D-Link DI604 router. I have no problem playing other games (Counter-strike and Warcraft III, to name 2), but this one has caused me a lot of grief in the short 24 hours that it's been out. Any help or any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a static IP address ... or are you allocated one each time you go online ?

I'm having no issues with static IP (setup = cable modem to router to switch to Doom3 PC) ... and it worked immediately AOK ... so maybe related to your IP setup? (grasping at straws) ...

I'm having the exact same problem, and I'm using the same router as you as well. Have you figured out how to fix this yet by any chance?

Do you have the same issues if you use another bit of software to connect (like All-Seeing Eye) ... or are you striking probs with connecting using the 'in-game' options? If 'in-game' is the problem, try something else ... otherwise have a nosey and see if any other forums report issues with the router you are using (google it) ... the common denominator is the router - so if this is the prob there must be heaps of noise about it ... hope you find a solution :)

Hey i contacted d-link and they gave me a few suggestions... one that worked. Everybody out there with a d-link 604 make sure you turn "Gaming Mode" off. It's under misc. settings.. i'm not quite sure where... but look around for it and turn it off... unlock ports 27666 udp and tcp and your good to go!!!
