This is my WIP of a lamp post i made 2 day in about 10 minutes :)

Rework those smoothing groups, and it looks like you got an invalid face here and there.

The smoothing groups still need work and I could think of some poly wastage here and there (if im correct, you extruded most parts and didnt clean up).

There isn't really a tool to do it with in milkshape :P but I'll try to find one

Go into Groups, then smoothing groups and play around.
