Battlezone (1) not 2 could probably be one of the best games I have ever played :D

Does anyone know how to unwrap models in MS3D, I would be VERY greatful if someone could show me how to do it :)

Today, I have completely remade the tank and it has 2000 triangles and tonnes of weapons :D heres a pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/Harrydude/tank3.jpg

Agree very much. It just wasnt the same without the yankees vs commies vibe, it was more like neutered PC Battlezone ...

It looks even better from the front, good work

Mmmm the turret couldn't turn without banging into the engines bit at the back.

Well I've done it so its like a quick moving hover tank because the original just turned around so it was all attached together

Yeah Big Al, it needs no turret when it can flick round like a ballerina *grin*

Yeah Big Al, it needs no turret when it can flick round like a ballerina *grin*Still can only fire the way it is pointing, which is more like a self propelled gun than a tank IMO.

no, g max is a modeling program not an unwraper. you can save your models then.

Well, you inspired me to have a go at it myself. I've started working on a high detail remake of the Razor, since its one of my favourite ships from the game, and I'm going to try to incorporate details from both the concept sketch and the CG intro movie. For the moment, I've got it to just about the level of detail of the original model : http://www.stateoftheworld.eclipse.co.uk/doom/stuffage/razor.jpg

Before I go any further though, I'd like to know what you think of it ;)

I have completed the whole tank! I am happy with it now so please give me your thoughts, I will post more screenshots of various angles.

Looks nice, the main thing I would do now before anything else is add smoothing groups - theyre a bit of a pain in the ass in milkshape if I remember correctly, but they really are important for giving the model crisp, angular edges. What you do is select a few faces that make a relatively flat continuous area and assign them to a particular group, you should see the difference immediately.

ok, thanks, Chilvence :)

Awesome! ToXiCFLUFF and I played a few games of that a while back, has surprisingly good netcode. The game itself is great too, I really should reinstall... ill get around to it sometime.
Anyway, nice to see some fans of the game around here.

Heh, maybe you me and Toxic can set up a game or two sometime. Its been ages since I had a good game of battlezone, I remember it eating up weeks when everyone was into it. Then of course new games came out and it was automatically discarded. Bah.

I'm halfway done modelling a re-take of the sasquatch at the moment, I never liked the original :).

Likewise, if I can find the HD space to install it.
