Who is the doomguy?

Anyone know if the 3d model for the Doom 3 doomguy might be modelled after any real person (the face), or is it completely original? Imagine what it would be like to be that guy!

Yup, doomguy is just doomguy, he has no name in any of the games (*cough*maybe doom3*cough*). But anywayz, doomguy is a plain soldier like any other soldier is, no hero or whatever, just a doomguy:)

sgt. kelly is a different guy, you have no name because you are supposed to give him one and its supposed to be you...i think, let me play some more of it to make sure..i still like to believe its BJ baskowits tho

They refer to him in DOOM III only as Marine. no name only a title.

Malcom Betruger is the head of the Delta Lab's research center.
Jack Campbel is Elliot Swann's Body Guard.
Elliot Swann is the guy who wears dark glasses.
Thomas Kelly is the Master Sergeant of the Marine Corp.

The original DOOM game did not give a name for the original character either. Flynn Taggart is a made up name from an external source, not part of id Software's game. And according to John Romero, the original DOOM Marine isin't suppost to be based on BJ Blackowics (spelling?).

Guys the question wasn't, what's his name.... it was who did they use as a base for the Doom 3 model's face? Was it somebody at id or somebody else or just something the artist came up with from scratch.

And one of the maintanence guys at the start of the game looks like Bruce Willis.

Now that you mention it Aliotroph? he does look like Bruce Willis.
I think the doomguy has an original face, though his face looks somewhat like my dads face:p

The DooM guy looks almost exactly like me, which my girl friend pointed out, with a scared look. lol. As i look at my avatar, i am like. wow it does look like me. Scary thought.

BTW i think the guy who refers to u in the game that calls u "marine, do this...marine do that" is Satan, and ur followin his orders..I actually made a save when u call for reinforcements, coz if i call them and i didnt have to, i can replay from there, and if i fucked it up, next time i will cancel the transmission to see what happens...

You'll learn more about that guy the farther you get on in the game.

As for the DoomGuy, I think the reason they didn't give him a name is to pull youinto the game more. When Kelly is talking to you, it makes it seem like he's talking to you whenever he just calls you marine. It wouldn't be the same if he said "Bill, do this... Bill do that" I have no idea who they modeled him after, it wasn't the rock though because The Rock wasn't round during the first Doom. It looks like they modified BJ, so if you can find out who BJ modeled after then you'll probably have your answer.

I don't know who, but he looks EXACTLY like some person I know of... I once knew, but I forgot. But it's cool the name you give the doomguy is displayed in the pda.
