I've always heard you should install DDR in pairs (2x256, 2x512, etc)
Right now i have 2x256 DDR400's
and i have 6 RAM slots total
I'm thinking about buying 2x512 DDR400's to go with the others.
So it'll be:
Row1 Row2
512 512
256 256
blank blank
will that work? i'll have 1.5Gb of RAM...
any other words of warning?

This should work nicely AFAIK... DDR means Double-Data Rate, and to get the double data, you should put more or less equally much RAM in the two RAM controllers. 512 + 512 MB is quicker than 1024 MB... You don't have to install them in pairs, like oldskool SIMM's...

Depends if the chipset is dual channel. The 865,875,9x0,most nForces,KT800 are to name a few.
