I'm Wondering is zdoom realy the most popular port?

according to sourceforge its not.
a search for doom (at the time of this post)on sourceforge comes up with

1st Doomsday
2nd the edge project
3rd Doom legacy
6th zdoomgl
8th prboom
9th vavoom
12th zdoom

on 22nd july
doomsday had 1,007 downloads
Legacy had 598 downloads
the edge had 52 downloads
vavoom had 49 downloads
prboom had 78 downloads
zdoomgl had 98 downloads
zdoom had 4 downloads

Most people dont even know zdoom has a sourceforge site. For Doomsday however, sourceforge is the primary (the only?) distribution point.

Jeez, get it right. This is the rants forum, not source ports.

Yeah, using Sourceforge isn't the most reliable way to go about that. Some ports will have alternate downloads.

Legacy for example, is often included in other packages, including Linux distributions. I've seen almost every port mirrored in some version or another on a lot of DooM sites too.

if you use source forg it will give you the most frequently updated links first and, will not give you the most popular. just the frequntly updatad first.

For serious doom players, overall Zdoom is the most popular port, hands down.

For casual players I'd say it was too close to call between Doomsday and Legacy. Maybe Legacy by a nose.
