I can't seem to get my firefox to work, I have the latest and it still wont work. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it atleast 2 to 3 times, I tried modifying the inf files and it still work work. I want my firefox back damn it! IE is slower (I noticed) a pain in the ass with its popup blocker and is just miserible to use. By the way I should mention I have installed Service pack 2 RC2. I am not going to uninstall it becaus I would have to format my hard drive and SP2 rocks. Any ideas, help would be greatly appreciated.
By the way I think it worked one time in SP2, I don't remember.

Stick a message on the Mozilla support forum (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38), you'll probably get a quicker response than from here.

And if you can't get it to work then, get Opera, it's almost as good.

we all have our own preferences, right now I am using mozilla 1.7
I want firefox back but not much I can do about that. Since I tried the older versions and they don't work I guess I can thank microsofts lovely service pack 2 for this mess. I guess their motto is "one browser for all" because right now I am not feeling like I have much choice. Other then that SP2 is a god send. Mozilla is great but its slower, a bit of a pain to use, annoying when it comes to configuring and just not the same as firefox. I think in SOME ways its better then IE and in others IE takes the cake but I guess I will be stuck with this setup for now. By the way I checked the forums and THOUGHT I found a solution titled "problems with SP2 and Firefox 0.9X but it got way off topic and in general that pissed me off so I guess my only solution is to reinstall 0.8 to see if that works (no biggie that I have to run a slightly slower and downgraded version if it works, thats all I want right now.)
if anyone has any solutions please let me know. Even ideas or hunches are welcome anything short of the following.
formatting
uninstalling SP2 (the security is nice, DX 9.0C rocks, the new sound code is great). Also whats the point of me uninstalling something I waited so long for. Heck, I am going to make a slipstreamed cd with SP2 on it.
getting another browser. (not saying I wont TRY new browsers, but in my opinion you stick with what works, and RIGHT NOW nothing can replace firefox.)
I will try opera though.
