View Full Version : Enhanced rocket trail

Only a tiny little wad, but I thought some people might like to use it. Basically just a rocket trail with flames and a couple more smoke frames. It replaces heretic frames, so it shouldn't interfere when run with any Doom mods or fuck up anything should anyone reading this decide to use it in their mod.

Hmm.. thought I should've taken some. Anyway, link's fixed now, and the file's only 5kb. Might put a small screenshot or two up tomorrow.

I downloaded it last night tox, looking good!

on a sidenote: Is there any way to change teh transparency of the smoke trails?

Sadly not.... sprite translucency is hard-coded in legacy. The transparent dehacked flag gives you some control, but apart from that it's only certain sprites.

I set the translucent dehacked bit for the rocket trail, and used the standard rocket trail frames and then some Heretic ones. That's why it shifts translucency towards the end of the animation - the default rocket frames have a hard coded level of translucency different from the default one of the dehacked bit......


I've still got a list and documentation of all the Heretic stuff on my hard drive, if you want it, so you can get around the default Doom limitations.

I did.. but I was told it didn't work.. can you have the malotaur from Heretic in Doom ?
