View Full Version : hexen scripting in doom2?

Hey I just came off of using zDoom and I think that doomsday is a lot better. I've been making some maps in Doom Builder, using the zDoom format which allows for hexen scripts with the doom2 graphics, sounds, etc.

What I want to know is, is there a way that I can play these in Doomsday? I'm trying to use kickstart to do it but i've been having some problems. I want to be able to choose the zdiwhack.wad from the games dropdown but can't figure out how I'd do that.

I suppose I can do it from the command line but I'd like to do it from kickstart so that I can choose addons, etc more easily.

No jDoom doesn't use the Hexen map format atm. That is planned for Doomsday 2.0

So consequently you won't be able to use any of the Zdoom specific editing features such as ACS and DECORATE.

Currently Doomsday offers DED, XG and InFine for mod/map makers (for more info check your docs folder, the feature docs at DHQ (http://www.doomsdayhq.com/) and the tutorials here in the forums).
