Didnt do much but it did help it stop looking like a toy ray gun and tried to make it a bit more similar to the original sprite version.

with the new version of the jdrp on its way, i think dani has redone all of the hud models, so most likely it will look less like a "toy ray gun"

It looks like your using the old modelpack Envid. You can download the current jDRP from TheModelYard (http://modelyard.newdoom.com) which has a newer Plasma Rifle.

Also I will be releasing the latest jDRP 1.1 in a few weeks so if your on dialup you might want to wait.

no im on cable, it is the older plasma rifle model and started to remodel it but Im not familiar with md2 formats, limitations via the port, texture map loss through conversion or whatever so I just skinned the regular md2 with something a bit less "plastic" looking. Im not knocking the guy who did it, hell I didnt even spend too much time on it. lol just offering it out there. Also Ill check that site out with the new rifle.

Thanks for the input!

hmmm I just downloaded 1.01 (still have the installer) and that is the plasma rifle that came with it....

You can't install 1.01 over the top of the modelpack, doing so results in conflicts that cause strange things to happen (Imp not falling over when killed) and incorrect models/skins used. You need to create a fresh Doomsday install and only install the jDRP.

Also you need to enable the jDRP in KickStart (under the Addons tab).

Ugh im getting errors with the sky texture.... seems like other textures are trying to over ride the other but they arent complete textures....seems like a bit of everything is jumbled up in the air.

after a few hours of honing in on it I had to delete my jdoom config file in the run\jdoom\ directory of doomsday to fix it

Yea I really think that the model packs at the DHQ main site should be repacked as PK3's so that they're easier to switch out.

I have that model pack as a PK3, and sometimes I switch between it and the jDRP, although the latter is my model pack of choice.
