Every day you'll find something new to learn. I'm building a megawad for Doom 2, yeah, I started mapping about month ago, maybe I'll announce the project later on. (10 maps done);)
I know how to set the level names on automap, but the problem is, I don't know how to set the level names to be displayed on intermission screen. (for example, Entering "Nuclear Plant") Yeah, typical question from a person who is new to editing.*book*

Well you will have to make some new graphics for that part. You start by loading up XWE or Wintex.(or NWT if you like thet). Then in the replace CWILV00 - CWILV31 with new graphics with your new level names. So hope you have making some graphics.

You have to replace the graphic with the name of your choice. For instance the graphic CWILV00 is the first map in Doom 2. Sooo you'll have to hand bomb a new graphic with the level name and put it into your wad using either Wintex or XWE.
Now that I think about it. Exl made this Doom Font program and I dunno if he has it available on his site or what.... Anyhow I only could get it to run in win98 (no work in win2k and I dunno about XP) but I made all my intermission level names with it.. If you want the program I'll try to find it. If you want you can tell me the names you want to use and I'll whip em up for you.
[edit] heh didn't see Pumpkin's post. :p

Yea I was looking for my copy of EXL's Font program, but I haven't been able to find it on my computer. I was going to say something about it, but I forget if it was EXL who made it or someone else.

Heh, DoomFont. It obviously doesn't work under WIndows 2K\XP for some weird graphical differences. However, Ki found some other bitmapping font program, and made some Doom fonts for that too. As I can't remember where the fonts or are the program is, I suppose she shoul tell us about it.

damn, I never even knew about it. It must be floating around somewhere, on one of those ftp places maybe.

It's called Bitmap Font Writer (http://www.stefan-pettersson.nu/site/bmpfont/) and I'm sure Ki will show up at some point with links to the fonts she made.

Yep. Thats what I use. altho I don't got links to the fonts I made ^.^;; I can uploadmthem tho if anyone really wants to use them. I don't mind.
And I tried Exl's font thingy and it don't work on my comp, and I got win98 :P
Just stick with http://www.stefan-pettersson.nu/site/bmpfont/
it's better in my book and you can make you're own fonts with it really super easy.. no scripting or anything needed.
I'll get around to uploading my doom fonts.

Can you do the same for the first Doom? Change the graphic for the intermission screen so that you have different names and the levels look different?

Yes, it's the same way in all doom wads.

Ok, I am trying to follow this and do this for my multi-map wad. I need to edit these CWILV00 - CWILV31 files to make new names for my maps?

Just open up the doom or doom2 wad. you'll see the level name objects. Then you just need to replace em in you're own wad.
