Looked ok for the rocket launcher but kinda strange for plasma and bfg.

I don't really know how to make a different decal for each weapon, thus I tried to create a balanced one, in size and shape, so it could look just ok if fired by any of the guns.

Can someone tell me the name of the sprite I should look for when replacing bullet and chainsaw decals?. Thanks!.

The chainsaw is 4 sprites:
SAWGA0
SAWGB0
SAWGC0
SAWGD0

Dunno whatcha mean by bullet exactly. Heh

He meant the decals i think, D'Dude, the ones included in legacy.dat.
I cant help you at the moment because there is no way for me to access legacy from this computer...
..If there even is a bullet decal, I turn Splats off always, so I cant remember.

Thank u!, btw, I think that pistol, berserk and both shotguns use the chainsaw's decals, at least they look the same..

Ooops, I've opened legacy.dat with XWE but can't find those names..

Those names that D_D was referring to are from the doom wad file. Open wintex and change to Sprites mode. All the decals are there.

Hmmm, not exactly what I was looking for...

Those names Doom_Dude posted are the weapon sprites from a wad file, no the sprites for the decals that chainsaw, berserk, pistol and shotguns leave on the walls...

Actually, I just wanted to do something similar to what I did above, a simple replacement.

Problem is, there is only 3 decals. One for blood, one for bullets and one for projectiles.

Hopefully, you will be able to define new types for weapons in C++.... it'd give a lot more scope for modders.

I already know the limitation, even so, I think I'd manage to desing something that can be used by berserk, chainsaw, pistol and shotguns, it's just that no one seems to know the name of the image that should be replaced, because it's an image right???.... *uhh*

I dunno either.... I would hazard a guess it's A_DMG1, but I'm not sure.

I thought the same because of the shape, but might be just a period...plus, XWE can only save it as an IMP file unlike the real sprites which can be saved as bmp files...
