If you want to use Doom95, then you select pwads under "Custom WAD File" in the launcher.

However, you may prefer to use a port, such as prboom, glboom, eternity, legacy, jdoom or maybe even zdoom or edge. This gives you more options, and probably more stability than Doom95. There are many ways to run a pwad using a port, but generally you just add "-file" followed by the name of the wad to your command line. For example:
prboom -file av.wad
This starts AV.wad using prboom.

Alternatively, you can get the original DOS exes here (http://www.doom2.net/~mykdoom/e2m5/). "-file" works with these too.

Could you be more specific? Are you talking about Alien Vendetta, Aliens TC, or something else?

Note that you need to use the pwad together with the correct iwad (generally doom.wad or doom2.wad) - you select this via "Game WAD file" in the Doom95 launcher. It should indicate in the pwad's text-file which one it works with.

Thanks yabbacard, you're the only one helping me.
I mean Alien TC. I played that ages ago and loved it.
I'd love to get it working again.
Sorry im so hopeless at these things.
theres just so many damn ways of doing it.

OK, Aliens TC uses a dehacked patch, so you won't be able to play it using Doom95 at all.

Which version of Aliens TC are you trying to use?

In the Doom2 version (doom2atc) the dehacked patch is a binary patch. In order to use this with a port, I think you need to convert it to a plain text patch by loading it into dehacked.exe and saving it as a text deh patch.

It's a little messy but it *should* work.

Edit: The Ultimate Doom version (u_alntc1.zip and u_alntc2.zip) has a plain text deh file, which makes things easier. It's probably also a better version to use, since it is closer to the original.
