I've got EDGE 1.27 runnin' great but can't seem to play anything else cept Doom2 lol.... havin' trouble loading PWADS and other IWADS cept for Doom2. I just click my EDGE icon and it instantly runs Doom2 but I always get "bad command" message when I try to load other IWADS or PWADS. What I'm really tring to do is play QDoom but the port is really good some other kool things in there heh too bad it won't work on DC. If anyone knows those commands I'd be a happy QDOOMER! lol

for playing doom.wad type this in a batch file, say edge.bat "gledge32 -iwad doom.wad" without quotes. If wanting to play pwads add -file foo.wad.
BTW EDGE 1.28 has recently been released. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/edge/edge-1.28-win.zip?download Read README.1st for further instructions.

ok thanks will try that...ya I tried just unzipping the new 1.28 just to see and was a little leary to try it cause the icons just appeared as dos type program whereas 1.27 has the right looking icons when unzipped but ya thanks will check more into that the differences between them and such. I got a new computer and I'm rediscovering these ports all over again :) wow really lookin' good.

In-game console commands or command-line commands?

Yes, I mean when you are in the game and you bring down the console and type in commands to skip levels or load pwads and iwads.

Well, I _think_ loading pwads and iwads must be done from the command line in EDGE's case.
Warp xx or mapxx might work in the console, but as far as I can remember there isn't much in the way of console commands for EDGE yet.

Oh ok I guess I just don't understand lol I just started using EDGE a little while ago it runs real good on my new comp. but I want to play other IWADS and PWADS on it besides DOOM2 cause that is the only thing that works right now. OK so how do you do what you say in your reply? Command line? I thought that meant the console lol... you know when you push " ~ " and it brings down the console. thanks

As I said - you need to create a batch file . Here is a very simple one.
Step 1. Open Notepad
Step 2. Name your txt file Qdoom.bat
Step 3. Open Qdoom.bat
Step 4. In your newly created qdoom.bat type gledge32 -iwad doom2.wad -file qdoom.wad
Step 5. Save your .bat file and place in your edge directory and run.
You may wish to add some command line options as noted in README.1st to your batch file.
There ... I hope that helps you. :)
EDIT : Fixed, yeah I typed this one on the fly. :D

lol ya ok it almost didn't work was going to give up for good till I realized you need the "32" in there too hehe wasn't in your latest reply but I looked back on your previous one and seen it there...wow that is too funny now I gotta get busy makin' bout 100 or so .bat files to play the different pwads...hmmm but what I really wanted to see was QDoom. I tried to combine em all in one but it don't work haha ok well I thank hawkwind for his patience and also Toxic.

alternately you could just right click on the exe and crate a shortcut and go to the properties of that shortcut and where it says EDGE.exe type -file qdoom.wad next to it, you dont need to type -iwad doom2.wad because it is the default iwad for EDGE

I came across an EDGE - PRBOOM launcher on the 'net. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/georgereagan .
I couldn't get it to work but it may be useful to some.
