To me, a novel based on the game DooM has a heck of a lot more credit in naming the character than DooM guy... wtf is DooM guy? it makes no sense, at least theres hard copies of what his name was. ID software sold the darned books, so there, it must be offical, or at least 100 percent more offical than DooM guy...

DooM Guy is justDOoM Guy. That's all. DooM never had much of a plot so there was no point in giving him a name anyways. Play Q3 and you'll find his name is DooM. everyone in the DooM community calls him DooM Guy anyway so that's that mostly because no one actually likes the books.
And what about Halo then?

The DOOM novels just made up a name (we had no input on that either). I'm not too hot on Flynn Taggart like everyone else.Surely that settles the issue?

Yeah, the player is DooM Guy. It's all as simple as that. Read the story in the manual. Personally I think they should have written the books in 2nd person.

Bwuahaha. No thanks. Hair is a lot harder to grow out, and takes forever. I tried growing it out between December and March...and finally had to get it cut again. I couldn't do anything with it, spikey wise, and it wasn't long enough to look good either. I also got tired of wearing a hat. Heh. I'm actually getting a haircut again this weekend. :D
